Flights to Florida are available from several UK airports direct to Orlando. Flying time from the UK is approximately 9.5 hours.
In most cases the cheapest option is to take a charter flight, the majority of which fly into Orlando Sanford Airport. Sanford is a relatively small but rapidly growing modern airport, located 18 miles northeast of Orlando, and is easily accessed by road via Interstate 4 or the Central Florida Greene Way (SR417). The distance from Sanford Airport to the villa is approximately 55 miles via Interstate 4, and the journey takes about 1¼ hours.
Scheduled flights are also available to Orlando, and generally fly into Orlando International Airport. However, scheduled flights are generally more expensive and are mostly indirect. Direct scheduled services are operated from the UK to Orlando International by British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. Orlando International is situated to the south of Downtown Orlando and is much nearer to Kissimmee and the local theme parks and attractions. Distance from the villa is approximately 30 miles, with a journey time of about 40 minutes.

To holiday in Florida you will definitely need a car, and it will probably come as part of a flydrive package. However, remember that the basic cost of a flydrive does not include all the extra taxes and insurance. Whilst the extra insurances are not compulsory, it is very strongly recommended that you have them. All the car hire companies offer insurance packages which can be prepaid before you leave the UK, and this will be cheaper than paying them locally in Florida. Any additional drivers will also cost extra (unless included in a prepaid "fully-inclusive" deal). Drivers must be aged 21 or over, and there are additional charges for drivers under the age of 25.
